Explore Shanghai China Children's Palace

The Shanghai Children's Palace provides after school education for gifted children, include traditional China tours Chinese instruments, plus typing and other useful skills. The Shanghai Children's Palace was founded in 1953 by Song Qingling (Madam Sun Yatsen).

Located at No.64 of Yanan Road in central Shanghai, the Children's Palace now is an interesting place for foreigners to visit, where many enjoyable performances will be shown by Chinese children. For the result of the fact that it is an old style building from Shanghai's opulent past, it has a special attrition. In recent years, it has been given Yangtze River cruises new life as well as the other old mansions in Shanghai.The building that houses the Children's Palace in Shanghai was built by a British businessman in the 1930's as his personal residence.

Shanghai tours

After the Cultural Revolution, Children's Palaces for children of working parents were created all over China for after school care. The Children Palaces is one of the most famous and is basically designed for children to study and practice the arts after school. Today, gifted children attend and learn to dance & sing, the theater, play Shanghai tour package folk or Western musical instruments, Wushu, ballet, computer science as well as other art skill.

Since then it has become meeting place for achieving children. Nancy Reagan and Herbert Armstrong visited here in 1984. From these visits the Little Ambassadors of Shanghai came to the United States and performed in San Francisco, the China tour White House and Ambassador College in Pasadena.
