Shanghai Tours-Visit Shanghai Duolun Road

Duolun Road (formerly named transliteration) is a little China tours street in Shanghai, north of the Sichuanbei Road Trade Area, and south of Lu Xun Park and Hongkou Football Field, with its back to the Inner Ring Viaduct and Jewel Light Track. The length of it is only about half a mile. The street is both narrow and short, and is also winding and deep and quiet, edged by little buildings of various styles, row upon row. Once a fishing village and then a metropolis infested with foreign adventures, now it has become one of the great cities in the east. Shanghai Tours-Jade Buddha Temple (Two)

Though an active Buddhist monastery today, the real emphasis at Shanghai's most popular temple is squarely on tourism. What the busloads come for are the temple's two gorgeous white jade Buddhas, each carved from an individual slab of Burmese jade and brought to Shanghai in 1881 by the monk Huigeng, who was on his way back from Burma to his hometown on nearby Putuo Shan (Putuo Island). Northeast of the main Daxiong Bao Dian (Treasure Hall of the Great Hero), the Cangjing Lou houses the first of the two treasures: a lustrous, beatific, seated Buddha weighing 205 kilograms (452 lb.), measuring 1.9m (6 1/4 ft.), and adorned with jewels and stones. The other Buddha is found northwest of the main hall in the Wofo Si, where a less impressive, but still beautiful 1m-long (3 1/4-ft.) sleeping Buddha reclines, his peaceful expression signaling his impending entry into nirvana. Opposite it is a larger, coarser replica donated by the educational tours in China Singapore Buddhist Friendship Association in 1988.

Both the Sitting Buddha and the China tours Recumbent Buddha can be found in the Temple. The sitting Buddha, carved with whole white jade, is a picture of enlightenment and meditation. The Sitting Buddha is 190 centimeters high and it is wearing a robe inlaid with precious emerald and agate.

During the rule of emperor Guang Xu in the Qing China tours Dynasty (1875-1908), Hui Gen, an abbot from Mount Putuo went on a pilgrimage to Tibet via the two famous Chinese mountains Mount Wutai and Mount Emei. After Tibet, he arrived in Burma. An Abbot by the name of Ke Chen later had a new temple built on land donated by a Mr. Shen. The construction took ten years, and lasted from 1918-1928. Ke Chen also invited Reverend Di Xian from Tian Tai mountain to come and lecture on Yangtze River cruises Buddhism in a magnificent ceremony.

In 1956, a ceremony was held at the temple by the Shanghai Buddhist Association to celebrate the 2500th anniversary of Gautama Buddha's enlightenment.

Tian Zi Fang is a warren of alleyways that run off of Taikung in the old French Concession of Shanghai. If you’re looking for an artsy knick-knack or accessory, quirky souvenir, tasteful homeware or a designer original, this is the place to come; an emphasis on local design and creativity rather than brands makes this the best shopping experience in the city. Shanghai's trendiest fashionistas, hippies, hipsters and artists are flocking to Tianzifang (Tiánzǐfāng, 田子坊), one of Shanghai's youngest art districts, to browse the boutiques and Yangtze River cruises lounge about in the many stylish hole-in-the wall cafés.

A decade ago, Tianzifang's art scene began with a single four-story former candy factory being renovated into an artist's factory and art quarter. Today, it's a bustle of locally owned art shops, interior design stores, jewelry and clothing boutiques, bag shops, cozy cafés and restaurants—all tucked into a tiny bohemian oasis. Though Xintiandi and Moganshan Lu must be mentioned for sake of comparison, there's really nowhere else like Tianzifang in the city.

You might occasionally have to duck some hanging laundry and stumble into the back door of someone's house while in search of a toilet, but that's what makes Tianzifang so fun—it's immediate, organic connection to the China tour surrounding neighborhood, not a sterile development drawn up by planners and corporate architects.

Nice Shanghai Tours-Touch World Financial Center Shanghai

For a truly visual experience China tours of the depth and breadth of expansion that has taken place in Shanghai this is a must. However the elevator does take you to the 100th floor at which time you get off on a see through floor to look down and out at the cityscape. Oh how wonderful and impressive this experience was. So glad I got to experience it on a somewhat clear day. A must see for those that can handle heights.

Wonderful place to visit, beautiful buildings and monuments. Recommend the boat ride on the Pudong river. We visited this "bottle opener" building with an great expectation to do a real sky walk at 474 m high above the Pudong Yangtze River cruises district. But, the floor had only small glass floor tiles there and there, not full glass floor as we have used to. But, anyway we enjoyed being up there. It was not a scare place at all for our ladies who followed with us up to the top of the building.

Too cute on the title? Anyway this was way cool. 150 RMB to go to the top and walk the SkyBridge. Lot's of vertigo inducing glass that let's you look straight down on the Shanghai tour package city. We went on Saturday but it was smoggy so that probably kept the crowds in check.

Very well organized! The lift goes up pretty fast, the view is amazing and the skywalk is absolutely epic !!! A must do in Shanghai. The view up there is the same when you flying with an airplane and 3 minutes before land. I paid for 150rmb or US$25 China tour only to go to the observatory deck.

Going up tall buildings for the view of a new city is something you do when you have time to kill and this was no exception. Nice view, fast elevators, glass bits in the floor on the 100th storey. The queue for the lift up was miniscule, the queue for the lift back down was a 15 minute wait.

Just coming here at late afternoon and we could get a great and romantic view of the whole city. Loved to see the sunset to much.
Be sure to get ticket that takes you to the 94, 97 & 100th floor. It is 150Yuan Yangtze River cruises per person but well worth it. The view from above is one of the most beautiful we have seen (and we have visited a lot of observation decks in Tokyo, Chicago, Bangkok, etc).

The "skywalk" was a little disappointing not being fully glass but it may be a little too unnerving if it was so maybe it is a good thing! When you are back on the street level, turn around Shanghai tour and look back at the building. Just think of where you were just standing on the "skywalk". Wow!

Unfortunately the day China tours we were there it was a bit smoggy so the view was okay but on one of those rare clear days I am sure it is pretty impressive. Best Shanghai Tours-Explore Shanghai Xintiandi

We were looking for a place to China tours eat at XinTianDi, and found WU TONG JU (梧桐居), which served some pretty good chinese food. We had about 7 dishes, and it was about 135 yuan per person, which was reasonable. The food portions were reasonable, and tasty. Service was friendly and prompt. Overall, a good place to try if you want to try good chinese food at XinTianDi.

Xintiandi has been beautifully restored and is a lovely environment to eat some lunch or hang out. The old buildings have been sympathetically treated and the dining options are plentiful. Well worth visiting and Yangtze River cruises grabbing a bite to eat at.

Preserved buildings now house shops and restaurants. Husband's family took us here for lunch on Sunday. Great place to grab a bite to eat and stroll around. A block away business travel to China from one of Shanghai's up and coming luxury shopping areas. Nice break from the craziness of the city.

The Museum, divided into several different China tours large rooms, was very grand, thorough. Each was dedicated to a different subject: there was Pottery/ceramics, paintings and scrolls, antique dress and headgear, beautiful lacquer and wooden carved furniture, calligraphic works. Loved the place.

Be a tourist in your own city, or show visitors just how much this city Yangtze River cruises has to offer. From preserved Ming dynasty bodies to exhibits detailing murder cases, there's a museum for everyone.

This large museum is central Shanghai has everything to get a persons atention. It has many display including Jade Gallery (my favourite), Ceramics Gallery, Bronze Gallery (really China business tours cool), Sculpture Gllery (interesting), Coin Gallery (really interesting coins from long ago). I like the Museum of Shanghai but I think the Glembow Museum in Calgary is much much better. This is alright for China. A large step for Shanghai but a small step for Calgary.

I must say that its my first time having to pay (RMB40) to get into a museum!!! It's an over-rated museum. What a dissapointment!! I expected more than just items contributed by individual owners! Yes, there were many levels & I expected to spend at least 3 hrs as everyone has recommended but my husband & I spent only 45 mins coz' the artifacts were just so boring. Not a proper insight of China's China business travel history. Waste of time for me.

A temple was built in 1882 to house the statues, but was destroyed in a fire and rebuilt at the present site in 1918 with swirling eaves characteristic of the Song Dynasty architectural style. Northeast of the main Daxiong Bao Dian (Treasure Hall of the Great Hero), which contains golden images Yangtze River cruises of the Buddhas of the past, present, and future, the Cangjing Lou houses the first of the two treasures: a lustrous, beatific, seated Buddha weighing 205 kilograms (455 lb.), measuring 1.9m (6 ft. 5 in.), and adorned with jewels and stones. Shanghai Tours-Never Miss the Shanghai Bund

The Bund is one of the most China tours famous tourist destinations in Shanghai. It starts from the Baidu Bridge, which is at the connecting point of the Huangpu River and the Suzhou Creek, to the East Jinling Road and winds a 1500 meters (less than one mile) length. Travel to Tongli in Shanghai Tours

18km (11 miles) SE of China tours Suzhou, 80km (50 miles) W of Shanghai

Surrounded by five lakes and crisscrossed by a skein of canals, the Song Dynasty town of Tongli is more built up and commercialized than Nanxun, but it's still a pleasant enough water village, with several impressive residences and gardens, and China's Yangtze River cruises first sex museum. It's not as if this picturesque town a half-hour east of Suzhou needs any more publicity, having been a magnet for television and film crews since 1983. Try to visit on a weekday when you won't be overrun by the masses, though you just may find yourself in the midst of a film set.

Visitor Information -- Entrance to Tongli's old town is free, but there is a ¥80 fee to visit all the major sights listed below except for the sex museum. Visiting hours are daily 7:30am to 5:30pm. There are introductory captions in English at the sights, but China educational tours if you want greater detail, the Tongli Tourist Information Center (tel. 0512/6333-1145) southwest of Tuisi Yuan can sometimes offer English-speaking guides for a fee, though they prefer that you call ahead to book.

Getting There -- Only a half-hour away from Suzhou, Tongli can just as easily be visited from there, especially if you decide to overnight in Suzhou. Your hotel tour desk in Shanghai or Suzhou can organize a day trip out here, as can any of the major travel agencies, but it's equally easy to do the trip on your own. From Shanghai, there are Tongli buses (2 hr., ¥130 round-trip, includes ¥80 entrance fee) that leave the Shanghai Sightseeing Bus Center (Gate 25 of the Shanghai Stadium/Shanghai Tiyuguan) daily at 8:30am. Departure times may change, so call ahead (tel. 021/6426-5555) to confirm. From Tongli, buses return to Shanghai around 4pm. Tongli's public bus station (qichezhan) is in the south in the new part of town on Songbei Gonglu. From here, buses run to Suzhou (40-50 min.; ¥8) every hour Shanghai tours between 7am and 5pm.
